I had a flood and all the carpet tiles were pulled up and the gooey glue was so bad that we could not walk on the floor. After a lot of research found this and bought the smallest size to test. It works like a dream! No smell but VERY slippery. I understand why the men on the YouTube video are wearing cleats…..just ordered the 5 gallon bucket via Amazon so I could get delivery in time for the long weekend. The squeegee for application and just pouring on the floor was the ticket! Now I have purchased a tool that rips up tile to scrape with for the next round instead of the flat edged shovel I was using……

Used in small area, left on for about 4 hours with no good results. Do I have to re-apply?

I needed to remove dried mastic from floor tile. This didn't work.

I purchased two five gallon buckets of Bean-e-doo to strip down approximately 1000 sqft of mastic on a concrete basement floor. As a side note, I would recommend having the following items to complete this task 1. Patience 2. Help 3. 6" ice scraper (I attached a snow shovel handle on the end, made scraping much easier) 4. 4" x 6" wire brush on broom handle 5. striping buffer with aggressive stripping pad.5. squeegee/s. 6. pump sprayer. You will find that this will be a very tedious job, but not super messy. I used a pump sprayer to lay a moderate coat of remover down. after 4 or so hours with muck boots on I began scraping the heaviest areas of mastic, then hitting them with the wire brush. I would first pull back an area with the squeegee then scrape then wire brush. This took about 4 hours. I then applied more remover and let set over night, as this is in the basement of a business I turned down the heat to slow the remover from evaporating. The next day I sprayed again where needed, then started removing with squeegee. I would repeat the scraping and wire brushing where I still found heavier deposits of mastic. With the help of a second person we removed the Been-e-doo in about 3 hours. We also went through about 11-20lbs bags of cheap cat litter. Since this was in the evening, I finished with a degreaser from Dollar General at a 2 to 1 ratio (Greased Lightning) and using my buffer with an aggressive pad. I did an area about 7' x 10' at a time. The amount of waste from the floor and the color of the water determined that I not go with a larger area. I am also finding that the edges next to the wall still have some deposit left, so I am using Xylene to remove this which is quick and easy with some throw away rags. Make sure that you limit this to small areas. I will do a final 5 to 1 clean and strip prior to painting the floor. The overall performance of the Bean-e-doo is satisfactory, it does what it says. But, be prepared to work to get great results, if the mastic is thick it can be a bear to get up, but it can be done. We were quoted $6-$8000 to remove tile and mastic, I believe after removal and painting we will be at about $750.
